We embark on a journey with Lauren Olamina the main character in Parable of the Sower. Through her diary entries we view how dystopian the world has become, stricken by wars, famine and poverty. Lauren is a gifted or cursed individual, an empath as she is able to feel others pain she must keep this secret to protect herself. We follow her life story and the pivotal moments that caused her to create change. A beautifully written prose by Octavia E. Butler. Parable of the Sower is a must read!
