Reviewing Books for Fun
The enormous popularity of book reviews is that they are done for fun. Whatever could it be to have prompted a book reviewer to treat a review the way they do? Its reason has not yet become clear to an author who is committed to their readership. It is a belief that authors who had their book published and asked for a critique of their book, did so out of necessity. Instead of that approach, there is a tightly held feeling that the review will take your book nowhere. People losing interest in your book is disheartening. So, to approach a review of your book is not to believe that you are a terrible writer as the review might hold you out to be. The worse thing is guilt, and yet it can be positive, and the only hope of consolation to do better next time. You are at the mercy of the reviewer and deep into oblivion that your writing is losing readership.
Most reviews were firmly held opinions of the author and spoke volume of the author. Others were not so lucky. They were in the depth of individual thought to cohere readers into believing that they were at the tipping point of becoming erased from readers' minds. But do not give in to those critiques, they were there to put off the reader and delayed publication.
It means success or failure but let us not believe that a writer cannot bounce back from bad reviews. It may put you on the spot and view your writing in more ways than one and break a writer or make a writer. A critique is to build your readership and not to destroy it. Take them as learning curves to focus a piece of writing for the future and establish a readership capacity.
It must be taken into consideration, especially when someone has never had a review before. Writing comes under scrutiny. Suddenly there is a change. There is a twofold perception. The reviewer becomes the writer, and so on until the review is completed.
Reviewers should treat authors the same and not give a glamorous review to well-known authors and a sunken review to a not so popular writer. They all have credible writing that should be pivoted on a writing platform for all to see. Bringing out their instincts as writers say that there is something special about the script that they produced. It is not fake or cosmetic but an inner focus of their imagination that speaks well about themselves that they wish to share.
Without that recognition, the writing script goes up in smoke and a bombshell that wipes the truth about the engagement that the author wishes to convey. A bewildered author will have to make strides to recapture their readership before discouragement sinks in and make them a stalemate.
Importantly, are the readership in thinking that the review is for fun and lost hope. So, it is to find a way to reverse the downward trend. It is to be swiftly and established them into the limelight once more as contemporary writers. They will have appeal and zest and sustain a committed and listening audience. They will fulfil their desires to induce substance of literary, which is the author's understanding of the literature.
